Massage Therapy Curriculum

Question:

How many years of schooling does it take to become a massage therapist? What is the starting salary? Do you like having a massage therapy career?

Answer:

The massage therapy qualifications and massage therapy curriculum differ from Province to Province, State to State and Country to Country.

I took massage therapy in Ontario, Canada. In the Province of Ontario you must attend 2200 hours of massage therapy schooling. It can be broken down into 2 or 3 years, depending if you attend private college or community college. Check the massage therapy curriculum page for a better idea.

The starting massage therapy salary is very hard to estimate. You can find a more descriptive answer to this question on the massage therapy salary page. However, I will give a broad estimate $30,000.00 to $50,000.00 gross income for the first year.

I enjoy my career very much and I am always taking new courses and refresher courses to stay current. There is always new techniques and new research developed to keep you up-to-date and that a part I truly enjoy.
