Massage Benefits

Question:

I would like some advice about some problems a friend of mine is having. She is suffering from pain in her shoulder and neck, she has gone to a therapist and she is still experiencing the problems. We have done a computer scan, and what we have found is that her cervical discs 3, 4, 5 and 6 have been blocked and are experiencing poor circulation and decreased energy flow. This has started to affect her lower back as well. Do you feel there's a possibility she might do well with massage therapy, or do you have any advice for me on this topic? I usually do the massage for her, though and I haven't taken any course.

Answer:

I am not exactly certain what type of treatment your friend was having. However, I do know that Massage Therapy can be very beneficial to someone who suffers from shoulder, neck and back pain. Deep therapeutic massage has been proven very successful to people who suffer from this type of condition. I would suggest that your friend look into massage from a Registered Massage Therapist. They have the proper training to address issues in the cervical spine (neck area), as this can be a sensitive area and precautions should be taken.
